      Fire protection curtains

      Fire protection curtains are seal openings in walls and ceilings in case of fire. The constructional set-up (rolling- or folding technology) and the use of different fabrics offer a wide application spectrum as well as different protection targets or classifications and time classes. Casings and side guides of those flexible applicable systems are integrated almost invisibly in the building and provide much scope for design of sophisticated architecture for opened designs.

      Manifold production - and logisitc processes require different construction types of conveying systems. If the haulage drifts are passing through fire-retarding resp. fire-resisting walls or ceilings, the necessary openings must be provided with fire protection closures to avoid the expansion of the fire by conveyor technique or by conveyed material. In case of fire the conveyor system closures have to seal those openings immediately and automatically. Thereby a classified fire resistance as well as the smoothly clearing of the closing area must be respected in case of release.

Controllers coordinate both fire detection and the interaction with other controls, like superordinate building control or the retraction of the closing area at conveyor closing area.

Gestern vor 30 Jahren …

… hat Jochen Stöbich die Gründungsurkunde unterzeichnet und den Grundstein für PROTEC-24 gelegt. Was war 1993 noch so los in der Welt?

Als PROTEC-24 im Jahr 1993 gegründet wurde, hatten wir alle noch kein Smartphone, sondern immer drei Groschen für den Münzfernsprecher dabei. Bill Clinton war neuer Präsident der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika, die EU wurde gegründet und mit ihr der Europäische Binnenmarkt. Whitney Houston sang sich mit „I will always love you” an die Spitze der Charts, in Deutschland wurden die fünfstelligen Postleitzahlen eingeführt und das Space Shuttle Endeavour startete zur ersten Wartung des Hubble-Weltraumteleskops ins All.

Auch bei ➥ PROTEC-24 nahm das Wartungsgeschäft rasant Fahrt auf – zunächst für die eigenen und später auch für die Systeme anderer Hersteller. So umfasste das Dienstleistungsportfolio z. B. Förderanlagenabschlüsse, textile Brandschutzsysteme, Brandschutztüren/-tore und kraftbetätigte Tür- und Toranlagen. Die ersten Standorte Goslar, Bopfingen und Taucha waren mit jeweils einem Mitarbeiter besetzt; im Laufe der Jahre wurde ein flächendeckendes Servicenetz aufgebaut.

„Wir kommen immer“ war der erste Slogan – und dieser Full-Service-Gedanke hat sich bis heute bei PROTEC-24 gehalten.
