      Conveyor system closures

      Various production and logistics processes call for the most diverse types of conveyor systems. If these conveyor lines pass through fire-retardant or fire-resistant walls or ceilings, the openings required for this purpose must be provided with fire protection closures to prevent the spread of fire through the conveyor system or the goods conveyed. In the event of fire, conveyor system closures (CSC for short) must close these openings immediately and automatically. Fire resistance classified according to DIN EN 13501-2 is just as important as the smooth clearance of the closing areas in the event of a fire.

      Smoke curtains

      A smoke apron is a part of a smoke control system which also includes other components such as natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilators (EN 12101-2) and mechanical smoke and heat exhaust ventilators (EN 12101-3). Smoke aprons restrict the movement of combustion gases within a building in case of fire.

      Smoke protection curtains

      Once closed, smoke protection curtains (SPC) restrict the passage of smoke during the phase of fire formation, so that in the event of a fire, there is enough time to rescue people and animals from the room behind the curtain and to recover material assets without the need for respiratory equipment.

Voorzitter SPD district Braunschweig bij STÖBICH

Enige tijd geleden bezocht Dr. Thorsten Kornblum, voorzitter van het SPD district Braunschweig, ons op de centrale STÖBICH locatie in Goslar. Hij was onder de indruk van onze veelzijdige brandbeveiliging.

Met meer dan 40 jaar branche-expertise en holistische brandbeveiligingsoplossingen is STÖBICH landelijk bekend. Hoe werken de verschillende brandbeveiligingssystemen op elkaar in en hoe voelt een brandgordijn aan? Dr Thorsten Kornblum wilde het precies weten en bracht samen met andere gasten van het SPD-district Braunschweig en het deelstaatparlement van Nedersaksen een bezoek aan de wereldmarktleider.
Na het officiële welkom door Dirk-Olaf Petersen, Managing Director van STÖBICH Holding, was er een korte bedrijfspresentatie in de showroom. De bezoekers kregen inzicht in het repertoire van de STÖBICH Groep, die zich richt op preventieve structurele en technische brandbeveiliging en batterijveiligheidssystemen. Met fascinerende tentoonstellingsstukken, zoals het gesimuleerde uitwerpen van een kritiek defecte LI-batterij op intralogistieke transportroutes, lieten de experts op indrukwekkende wijze zien hoe volledig geautomatiseerde brandbeveiliging kan functioneren.
Daarna wachtte het geïnteresseerde publiek nog een ander hoogtepunt: de live branddemonstratie op het buitenterrein. "Wow, kan het tegen deze hitte?" verwonderde Kornblum zich toen hij de innovatieve warmte-isolerende stof aanraakte, waarachter vlammen van bijna 800 graden Celsius schoten. Tijdens de daaropvolgende rondleiding door de productiefaciliteiten kon de SPD-districtsvoorzitter opnieuw van dichtbij kennismaken met het dunne hightech textiel dat wordt gebruikt om de rook- en brandwerende gordijnen te maken. Al met al genoten alle deelnemers zichtbaar van de excursie naar de STÖBICH brandbeveiligingswereld en deden ze interessante indrukken op.
