      Fire protection curtains

      Fire protection curtains are seal openings in walls and ceilings in case of fire. The constructional set-up (rolling- or folding technology) and the use of different fabrics offer a wide application spectrum as well as different protection targets or classifications and time classes. Casings and side guides of those flexible applicable systems are integrated almost invisibly in the building and provide much scope for design of sophisticated architecture for opened designs.

      Manifold production - and logisitc processes require different construction types of conveying systems. If the haulage drifts are passing through fire-retarding resp. fire-resisting walls or ceilings, the necessary openings must be provided with fire protection closures to avoid the expansion of the fire by conveyor technique or by conveyed material. In case of fire the conveyor system closures have to seal those openings immediately and automatically. Thereby a classified fire resistance as well as the smoothly clearing of the closing area must be respected in case of release.

Brandweervereniging van de deelstaat bij STÖBICH

Eind oktober hield de Nedersaksische brandweervereniging een commissievergadering over "Bedrijfsvoering, milieurisico's, rampenpreventie" bij de vrijwillige brandweer in Goslar. Wat is er natuurlijker dan gedetailleerde informatie van STÖBICH te krijgen over veiligheid en brandbeveiliging bij het omgaan met lithium-ionbatterijen?

Sinds enkele jaren delen STÖBICH en de vrijwillige brandweer van Goslar hun interesse in de veilige opslag of het transport van kritieke energieopslagapparaten. In nauwe samenwerking ontwikkelden de brandbeveiligingsspecialisten slimme oplossingen voor lithium-ionbatterijen die gevaarlijke gassen kunnen afgeven bij een ongeluk. Dergelijke ➥ StrainBox transportboxen van STÖBICH werden overhandigd aan de brandweer van Goslar en werden onlangs opnieuw gebruikt bij de ➥ brand van een elektrische scooter in Dörnten.

Afgelopen vrijdag kregen we ter gelegenheid van de EUK-commissie niet alleen bezoek van de districtsbrandweercommandant van Goslar en zijn plaatsvervanger, maar ook van andere districtsbrandweercommandanten uit verschillende Nedersaksische districten, vertegenwoordigers van het Nedersaksische ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken en de voorzitter van de Niedersächsische Staatsbrandweervereniging. In totaal namen 13 mensen deel aan ons informatie-evenement in de STÖBICH showroom. Het ging onder andere over Li-ion batterijsystemen (LiBS) en hun structuur, functie en ontwerp, evenals het bijbehorende brandgedrag en gevarenpotentieel. Na de theoretische presentatie van de batterijbeveiligingssystemen StrainBox en StrainLock konden de deelnemers tijdens een rondleiding kennismaken met de producten. De rondleiding door het accutestcentrum op het terrein van STÖBICH vormde de kroon op het werk.

Voor onze gasten was het een "zeer interessant evenement met veel inzicht in de gevaren van lithium-ion batterijen en hoe je er veilig mee om kunt gaan met de juiste producten." Marc Dinse van STÖBICH concludeerde: "We staan in nauw contact met de brandweer van Goslar en zijn altijd blij met verzoeken voor dergelijke evenementen. Op deze manier kunnen we een belangrijke bijdrage leveren aan het veilig omgaan met lithium-ion batterijen. Het evenement toonde eens te meer aan dat er ook bij de brandweer grote behoefte is aan actie als het gaat om de juiste omgang met lithium-ion-batterijen. Dit geldt zowel voor werkzaamheden waarbij batterijen worden verbrand als bij het omgaan met hun eigen batterijgevoede apparatuur."
