      Fire protection curtains

      Fire protection curtains are seal openings in walls and ceilings in case of fire. The constructional set-up (rolling- or folding technology) and the use of different fabrics offer a wide application spectrum as well as different protection targets or classifications and time classes. Casings and side guides of those flexible applicable systems are integrated almost invisibly in the building and provide much scope for design of sophisticated architecture for opened designs.

E-bikes & brandbeveiliging: hoe veilig zijn de accu's?

E-bikes en elektrische fietsen worden steeds populairder, zowel in de vrije tijd als op de zaak. Maar hoe zit het met de veiligheid van hun "hart", de lithium-ion-accu? Hoe gevaarlijk zijn energieopslagapparaten en welke brandbeveiligingsoplossingen zijn er?

Lithium-ion accu's hebben zich bewezen als energieopslagapparaten in elektromobiliteit: ze scoren met een hoge energiedichtheid bij een relatief laag gewicht, een korte oplaadtijd en een lange levensduur. In principe zijn ze veilig, maar onder bepaalde omstandigheden kunnen de batterijen een ongeluk krijgen, d.w.z. exploderen. Dit leidt tot heftige reacties in de vorm van branden waarbij gevaarlijke giftige en corrosieve gassen vrijkomen. De oorzaak van een dergelijke brand is vaak onjuist opladen, bijvoorbeeld diep ontladen of overladen.
Grotere bedrijven, doe-het-zelfzaken en fietsenwinkels vertrouwen daarom steeds vaker op gerichte brandbeveiliging door de batterijen veilig achter slot en grendel te bewaren.
