      Brandschermen

Service and Maintenance

Service and Maintenance

Qualified services from one source

Fire protection systems must function reliably in an emergency. They serve to maintain fire and smoke compartments and are intended to prevent the uncontrolled spread of fire and smoke in the event of a fire. Therefore, the function of textile fire protection solutions and fire protection closures for rail-bound conveyor systems must be guaranteed at all times. The function and condition of the systems must therefore be checked regularly.

To ensure compliance with applicable standards as well as permanent operational safety, regular checks must be carried out for structural fire protection systems as well as for their electronically controlled hold-open systems. This concerns both the inspection of the permanent functional readiness as well as the maintenance or servicing of the systems. For this purpose, the respective regulations for use and maintenance apply according to the corresponding standards and usability certificates or the manufacturer's specifications required therein. STÖBICH offers you qualified services with manufacturer competence. The core task is the maintenance and servicing of our fire protection systems. In addition, we offer modernisation concepts to ensure the safety and reliability of outdated systems. A nationwide branch network and certified service technicians can carry out all services quickly and competently - also for systems from other manufacturers.

Do you have any questions? Our service professionals will be happy to help you.

Ensuring safety in case of fire

Maintain structural segmentation

When there is a fire, necessary openings in walls and ceilings should be securely closed. Triggered by fire detection elements, the smoke- and fire-resistant partitions close automatically in the event of an alarm, ensuring that fire gases and flames do not spread uncontrollably throughout the building.

If this does not function reliably in an emergency, there is little time for people to rescue themselves, access for rescue and recovery forces is made more difficult and property damage is many times higher. This can cost lives and threaten the existence of a company. Therefore, ensure the function of your systems at all times!

Regular maintenance of fire protection systems is mandatory

Safety-relevant systems for compliance with defined protection goals of buildings

The basis for carrying out regular maintenance and testing is the Workplace Ordinance (ArbStättV) and the respective state building regulations (LBO), which regulate, among other things, ensuring fire protection. This means that operators of textile smoke and fire protection curtains as well as conveyor system closures are obliged to permanently check and ensure their functional condition. Likewise, written documentation of all maintenance and testing is mandatory. For maintenance and functional testing, the instructions of the respective manufacturer must be observed as well as the requirements of the general building authority approvals of the DiBt, DIN 14677 for the associated hold-open systems or DIN 18095 when using smoke protection closures. With a nationwide branch and service network, we offer you all the necessary services - also for systems from other manufacturers. The functional tests are carried out and documented quickly and competently by certified service technicians. Our services offer you tested safety according to manufacturer specifications.

Tested functionality

Protecting human life and property

Operators of systems are obliged to permanently check and ensure their functional condition. This means that a periodic functional test is also the responsibility of the operator. This is carried out by "trained persons for hold-open systems", but can also be transferred to a specialised company.

Tested service quality

Qualified services from a single source

Textile smoke and fire curtains are safety-related installations, just like fire doors and gates or fire barriers for rail-bound conveyor systems. To ensure their life-saving function, these installations must be regularly inspected and maintained. The manufacturer's inspection instructions must be observed. The same applies to the requirements of the general building inspectorate approvals of the DiBt, DIN 14677 for associated hold-open systems or DIN 18095 for the use of smoke protection closures. Professional maintenance of fire protection systems must be carried out at least once a year. A function test in accordance with the approval and manufacturer's specifications is mandatory on a monthly or quarterly basis.

Maintenance of own and third-party systems

Our service for you

In order to permanently check and ensure the functionality of safety-related systems, such as smoke and fire barriers/curtains, maintenance is required at least once a year, as well as monthly or quarterly function tests in accordance with approval and manufacturer specifications.

The test results must be documented in writing. If defects are discovered during this process, they must be rectified immediately. The test must be carried out by a trained specialist company.

Repair of fire protection products

Rapid restoration of the functional condition

Repairs to conveyor system closures usually take place during scheduled production shutdowns. In the case of fire/smoke protection closures and curtains, maintenance measures are usually taken when the systems are freely accessible outside opening hours and customer traffic, for example in shopping centres, furniture stores, administrative buildings or other public facilities. In the event of damage, fast response times are important. Here, we can react accordingly at short notice in order to reduce a possible standstill of the operating processes to a minimum. Fast solution finding and troubleshooting are decisive in this respect.

Stay up to date!

Modernisation and retrofitting of existing systems

If the age of smoke and fire protection systems means that they no longer meet modern standards, or if technical requirements have changed as a result of standards and directives, it is advisable to modernise (retrofit) an existing system. Often, no grandfathering applies in these cases, so that the system must then even be adapted.

In this case, we will advise you competently and individually on how you can modernise your systems efficiently and adapt them to the respective requirements. We will tell you what is worthwhile for you, what it will cost and what advantages will result for you. This can be, for example, a higher reliability of the plant, the improvement of safety, a longer service life or the securing of the necessary spare parts procurement.

Through modernisation measures, existing systems can be brought up to the current safety standards so that all regulations are met and the system offers the greatest possible safety in the event of a fire.
