University of Vienna | Vienna, Austria

The University of Vienna was founded in 1365 and is one of the oldest universities in Europe. The main building, designed by architect Heinrich von Ferstel, was completed in 1884 in the Ringstraßenstil. Its neoclassical façade symbolizes the connection between tradition and progress. Busts of famous scholars can be found in the magnificent arcade courtyard. Particularly impressive is the auditorium with frescoes celebrating knowledge. The architectural diversity of the university, which ranges from neo-Renaissance to modern structures, reflects its rich history.

In this venerable building, our ➥ Fibershield®-E fire curtains ensure that a fire cannot spread. The innovative textile fire protection systems, which are effective in many historic buildings around the world, are hidden in narrow casings.
