The StrainBox XS enables ADR-compliant transport and the safe storage of critical and defective lithium-ion batteries. Its compact design has been specifically developed for batteries used in small energy storage systems, such as those found in e-bikes, power tools or mobile devices.

The design is engineered to withstand lithium-ion battery failures and controls the thermal and mechanical stresses arising from a potential thermal runaway. The integrated thermal management system limits heat transfer to the outside and prevents critical heating of the outer surfaces.

An integrated gas venting and filtration system reduces the release of toxic reaction gases and retains particles and solid reaction products within the enclosure. The pressure-resistant design prevents the escape of flames, sparks, liquids and solids.

To protect people and property, the StrainBox XS features proven safety features from Stöbich Brandschutz GmbH, including the integrated gas ducting and filtration system, a mechanically robust design and the integrated thermal management system.
