Water towers Westend | Berlin, Germany

The two Dutch-style water towers have characterized the Berlin cityscape since the end of the 19th/beginning of the 20th century. At their peak, they each had a capacity of 500 cubic meters. When the two red giants were no longer needed for the water supply, the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district office approved their conversion into a home for owners and tenants at the end of 2008. Each of the 14 floors of the large Wasserturm-West building houses an apartment of around 170 square meters, while the small Wasserturm-Ost building houses an apartment of around 200 square meters on 7 floors. Balcony included - fire protection too, of course.

Our textile fire protection systems ➥ Stoebich Fire Curtain-F guarantee efficient fire protection in the long term, as they reliably withstand the effects of the weather. This is achieved, for example, by the guide rails and the drive, which are heated at cool temperatures and therefore cannot freeze. This is how versatile structural fire protection can be - far more than just a "façade".
