The Old Town Hall in Hanover is one of the oldest secular buildings in the city – its history dates back to the 13th century. Even in the Middle Ages, it was a place of trade, discussion, celebration and justice. In the 19th century, architect Conrad Wilhelm Hase had the building restored, preserving its historic character with North German brick Gothic architecture, striking stepped gables and ornate façade details.
