Hamburg's striking bunker on Feldstraße is reinventing itself: the spectacular addition of five pyramid-shaped floors makes the building a visionary example of revitalization. This project combines past and future: while a part of the bunker serves as a memorial to the Nazi era, urban gardening, sports and cultural areas, as well as creative spaces, make it a lively meeting place for residents and guests. More than 100 trees and evergreen plants create an oasis – even in winter. This is how a gray war relic is being transformed into a vibrant symbol of sustainability and community.
