      Conveyor system closures

      Various production and logistics processes call for the most diverse types of conveyor systems. If these conveyor lines pass through fire-retardant or fire-resistant walls or ceilings, the openings required for this purpose must be provided with fire protection closures to prevent the spread of fire through the conveyor system or the goods conveyed. In the event of fire, conveyor system closures (CSC for short) must close these openings immediately and automatically. Fire resistance classified according to DIN EN 13501-2 is just as important as the smooth clearance of the closing areas in the event of a fire.

      Smoke curtains

      A smoke apron is a part of a smoke control system which also includes other components such as natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilators (EN 12101-2) and mechanical smoke and heat exhaust ventilators (EN 12101-3). Smoke aprons restrict the movement of combustion gases within a building in case of fire.

      Once closed, smoke protection curtains (SPC) restrict the passage of smoke during the phase of fire formation, so that in the event of a fire, there is enough time to rescue people and animals from the room behind the curtain and to recover material assets without the need for respiratory equipment.

Exciting specialist conference on lithium batteries

Impressions and input from the 19th Lithium Battery Conference: STÖBICH Brandschutz and STÖBICH technology were there as exhibitors in Göttingen.

From 26 to 29 January 2026, numerous experts gathered in Göttingen for the 19th Lithium Battery Conference. The event, organised by fokus GEFAHR/GUT, is considered a key industry meeting place for transport & logistics, hazardous goods, fire protection, and the recycling and disposal of energy storage devices.

With an excerpt from our technical fire protection products and our services related to our battery test centre, we complemented each other well: While we at ➥ STÖBICH technology focus on research, development, consulting and testing in the field of battery safety, ➥ STÖBICH Brandschutz specialises in the holistic fire protection segment, which includes both structural and technical fire protection. Interest in our ➥ solutions for ADR-compliant transport and safe storage of critical batteries and ➥ technical fire protection was high. We were able to discuss specific questions with the expert audience and engage in more in-depth conversations. We learned a great deal from the interesting presentations on the topics of safe storage and transport, fire protection and recycling. One highlight was the demonstration on the last day, which vividly illustrated the dangers of lithium-ion batteries. We also thoroughly enjoyed the evening event on Tuesday, where we networked and exchanged ideas with old and new contacts.
